The Smart Home Deals Playbook: What Prime Day 2026 Taught Us

Prime Day 2026 (23–26 June) delivered discounts of up to 70% on smart home gear — and, more usefully, revealed exactly how smart home pricing behaves. If you missed it, here is what sold, and how to buy smart before the next big sale.

The standout deals we tracked

Video doorbells hit absurd lows: the Blink Video Doorbell at $19.99 and the myQ Video Doorbell at $29.99 (from $99.99). Cameras followed: Arlo’s Essential Indoor 2K fell to $14 (82% off) and the Blink Outdoor 4 four-camera kit to $139.99. Speakers: the Echo Dot at $34.99. Robot vacuums: Ecovacs flagships discounted by as much as $600, with Lutron lighting kits among the standout non-Amazon values.

The patterns worth remembering

1. Amazon’s own gear bottoms out on Prime Day. Echo, Blink and Ring hit their yearly lows — if you want them, those windows are the time.

2. Robot vacuum flagships discount hardest. $400–600 off is routine for last season’s flagship; patience is worth more here than in any other category.

3. Entry security gear is nearly free. Sub-$20 doorbells and $14 cameras mean a basic security layer costs less than a takeaway dinner.

4. Premium ecosystems barely move. Apple hardware and Philips Hue discount modestly — do not wait months hoping for 50% off a HomePod.

Next windows

Amazon typically runs a second Prime event in October, followed by Black Friday — historically the strongest period for non-Amazon brands. Build your wishlist now, note today’s prices, and buy only when the discount is real. Our buying guides tell you which devices are worth putting on that list.
