Matter went mainstream
Kwikset’s Aura Reach smart lock ships with Matter-over-Thread and a clever “Proximity Wakeup” that lights the touchpad as your hand approaches. Hisense added Matter to its ConnectLife platform — your fridge’s touchscreen can now run the house. And Ulticam’s IQ V2 was among the first cameras built on the new Matter 1.5 camera specification.
Alexa+ everywhere
Amazon announced a major expansion of Alexa+ beyond Echo devices — into TVs, cars, appliances and wearables, with Samsung the first third-party brand to build it directly into smart TVs. The assistant is becoming ambient rather than device-bound.
Ecosystems over gadgets
Govee, Eufy and others pitched platforms rather than products — lighting, security and automation working together, with local processing keeping things responsive when the internet is not. Govee’s own trio (Floor Lamp 3, Ceiling Light Ultra, Sky Ceiling Light) arrived alongside a Samsung SmartThings partnership.
Robots for the garden
Mammotion’s LUBA 3 AWD robot mowers combine 360° LiDAR, dual 1080p AI vision and NetRTK for ±1cm positioning — robot vacuum-grade autonomy, outdoors.
